Stephen Keshi has been re-appointed as coach of Nigeria after he was sacked earlier this month.
The head of the federation’s technical committee, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, said his body had “decided to accept” a proposal re-instating Keshi as Super Eagles coach for Nigeria’s next Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo and South Africa in November.
Barely 48 hours after the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, the acting Inspector General of Police, Sulaiman Abba, yesterday, withdrew all his security aides.
The Federal Government also deleted Tambuwal’s picture and name from the official website of the National Assembly:http://www.nassng.org/nass.
With the deletion of his details from the web page, only the data and photographs of nine principal officers of the House of Representatives are running, with Emeka Ihedioha, the deputy speaker, being the highest-ranking officer on the page.

A 14-year-old Nigerian girl accused of murdering her 35-year-old husband by putting rat poison in his food could face the death penalty, Nigerian prosecutors said Thursday.
Wasila Tasi'u killed her 35 year old husband, Umar Sani and 3 of his friends with rat poison in the village of Unguwar Yansoro in Kano, 17 days after she was forced to marry him in April 2014.
Prosecutors at the High Court in Gezawa, have filed an amended complaint that charged the young girl with one count of murder over the killing,if convicted, the charge is "punishable with death" and indicated the state would seek the maximum penalty.

Two days after formally communicating his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the security details of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal have been withdrawn on the orders of the President, Commander-in-Chief.
Yesterday evening, the Presidency convened a high level meeting ostensibly to discuss Tambuwal’s defection. In attendance At the meeting were members of the National Working Committee of the PDP, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Muhammed Bello Adokie, some PDP Governors as well as members of the House of Representatives from the party.
Nigeria's president Goodluck Jonathan has not only survived, he will seek reelection in February stronger than ever, after five years in a job no one expected him to get.
Jonathan's support base within the ruling party is now unchallenged, a rare feat for the often fractious People's Democratic Party (PDP), while the main opposition APC coalition is split between two contestants for the presidency.

The shoplifter, 28 year old Yu Chung, went into the store in China's Zhejiang province to buy clothes and stuffed some into her bag without paying for them.
The angry store owner, 39 year old Mei Hsueh, who caught her red handed, descended on her, removed her top to prevent her from running away, then removed her bra and pushed her outside of her store.
Dallas nurse Amber Vinson, the second health care worker to contract Ebola after treating Thomas Eric Duncan at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, has recovered from the potentially deadly virus and was discharged from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Amber was declared free this afternoon October 28th by management of the Atlanta Emory Hospital where she had been undergoing treatment.
The body of Oyoms Alamieyeseigha, one of the sons of former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepriye Alamieyesegha, was flown into Abuja yesterday October 28th from Dubai via Arik Air, on transit to Port Harcourt, as the family prepare to bury him.
The 30 year old man, who was schooling in Dubai, was found murdered there on Oct. 11th. Police said it was suicide but that has since been ruled out.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has urged the speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, to leave office after Mr. Tambuwal officially announced his defection from the party to All Progressives Congress, APC, Tuesday.
Mr. Tambuwal decamped after months of speculation. He had previously denied he was moving to the APC despite openly associating with the party.
The clearest indication he was joining the opposition party came more than a week ago when he attended a meeting of the APC in Sokoto State.

The Australian government today announced a travel ban on all flights from West African countries, including Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia....Nigeria is not included.
Making the announcement, the Australia's Minister of Immigration, Scott Morrison said under the new travel ban, no new visas would be issued to intending travelers from these countries and that all temporary visas would be cancelled, this is all i a bid to stop the spread of the deadly Ebola virus.
All passengers with permanent visas that have to travel to Australia from these countries will be subjected to 21 days of isolation in their countries of departure and upon arrival in Australia will be subjected to all kinds of test.

A 54 year old man, ThankGod Ebhos has been freed after spending 19 years on death row in Nigeria.
Just last year, ThankGod's life was saved seconds from his execution. He had been tried and sentenced to death by a military tribunal in Kaduna in May 1995, after he was accused of an armed robbery that had taken place in 1988.
June 2013, ThankGod was dragged to the gallows at Benin Prisons, forced to watch four fellow
death-row inmates being hanged and was told he was next. His execution was however halted when prison authorities realized that his death sentence required it to be carried out by a firing squad, which the prison was not prepared for.

Unknown gunmen killed a German national and abducted another one on Friday morning October 24th in Sagamu, Ogun state. The two men, who worked for Julius Berger, were traveling in two separate vehicles without their security escorts when the gunmen attacked and fired shots into their vehicles.
"About four armed men emerged from the bush near Sagamu on Friday morning and attacked. A bullet hit one German and he was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital, while the hoodlums abducted another German.” police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi told AFP
